March 3, 1945 - Morning - Anchored off of Biak. It is a pretty nice level island. Section 2 got Liberty here. Some of them that went to the air field said some C-54 Skymasters left regularlt for the States on a 48 hour trip. Some of the boys got some beer for 1250 a case and got in a fight. One guy lost 2 teeth. Secured from radio watch.

March 2, 1945 - Evening - Sighted New Guinea. We arrive at Biak tomorrow. Palawan was invaded yesterday.

February 28, 1945 - Evening - Got underway for Biak. I heard today that one of those large peaks that you can see on Halamahera is an active volcano. There are around 20,000 Japs on Halamahera.

February 21, 1945 - Night - At Biak - We are still underway circling island to come in from the South. Can see New Guinea in the distance. Biak looks about like islands off of Sansapor. 2245 - Got change of orders, heading for Sansapor.

February 16, 1945 - Afternoon - Got underway with 70 other ships for Biak.

November 8, 1944 - Retracted from beach after several attempts. Noon left for the area of Biak.

November 6, 1944 - Passing New Guinea all this morning. Evening - passing Japan and Biak. Night - can see lights from Biak to starboard.
