August 18, 1944 - Still at the same place. There is an airplane field on Los Negros Island just across the bay.

August 17, 1944 - Moved anchorage to close to the seaplane base. There is mostly Catalinas here.

August 16, 1944 - Sighted Manus Island in the Admiralty group. Entered Seeadler Harbor. Received first mail in fifty-one days, since Panama. This is a jungily looking place.
