April 29, 1945 - The Culebra Isle has two monkeys and they and our monkey really had a time. We are missing a D-Day in Borneo by having to come for repairs and I think we are going to get to got to Austrailia instead. We are now in group 23 under LST 1018 and are doing our watch every 3^rd day. We saw another movie tonight.

April 28, 1945 - Got underway and tied up to Culebra Island ARL 7, for some repairs. Night - Saw movie on Culebra Isle.

February 26, 1945 - Still loading. We have only a small load topside. The tank deck load in mostly sleds. Evening - Got underway to the other side of the island to take on water at the Navy dock there. The Navy dock is made of pontoons fastened together. Night - Went ashore and saw movie “Tall in the Saddle”. This is the nicest laid out camp I’ve seen since I left the States. We heard 2 PT boats sank some Jap barges last night off of Halamahera.

February 15, 1945 - Morning - Got underway to LST 614 for fuel and returned to anchorage. Last night I went to a movie on the LST 993 and met another guy I was in school with at Bradford.

November 22 - December 16, 1944 - Got mail on board almost every day although I didn’t get mail everyday. Painted part of the radio shack with a mixture of red, black, and blue which makes an indescribable color although it does look ok. Went to water hole and took on water, got to see a movie while there. Tied up to a tanker and took on fuel. I got to see about 5 movies while in the bay this time. Bills got transferred to the hospital because of ulcers. We went back to the water hole before we left.

November 3, 1944 - Got 3 letters. Saw a movie on (LST) 668. Tied up to a tanker and took on fuel.

October 4, 1944 - Went in swimming. Went for a ride on a private boat. Saw two movies. Had air raid but planes never came over us. They dropped a few bombs.

August 22, 1944 - Saw another movie. Had to wade through mud up to my shoe tops to get to it though. If it was me I would give the place back to the Japs.

August 20, 1944 - Went ashore to see a movie under the palm trees. It was Olsen and Johnson in "Crazy Horse(sic)". It was pretty good.

August 6, 1944 - Stayed aboard ship-Slept and painted floor of radio shack. Saw another movie that night.

August 5, 1944 - Went ashore and played softball and football again. I’m still sore from playing last time. We brought our dinner with us this time and eat it under the palms. I peeled some coconuts (which is a big job when you don’t know how, and I didn’t) and brought them back to the ship with me. I eat more coconuts down here than a monkey. I saw another movie that night.

August 4, 1944 - I didn’t go ashore today. We moved anchorage and tied up to another ship moored in the day and saw a movie they had that night.
