April 29, 1945 - The Culebra Isle has two monkeys and they and our monkey really had a time. We are missing a D-Day in Borneo by having to come for repairs and I think we are going to get to got to Austrailia instead. We are now in group 23 under LST 1018 and are doing our watch every 3rd day. We saw another movie tonight.

February 9, 1945 - Evening - Saw helicopters, it came out over the water pretty close to us. Got another monkey aboard.

February 2, 1945 - 0400 - Special sea detail - We are underway with 9 LST’s, 2 DD’s, 1Pc, and about 4 transports for Subic Bay. The water is really smooth along here. We arrive in the morning D Plus 4. Our monkey committed Hari Kiri over the side.

January 27, 1945 - Passing Panay all day. Morning - got Bogie report, but 4 of our planes went up to intercept it and it never got over us. Noon - Got a report of another Bogie, but it never got to us either. Night - Passing Cuyo Island to port. We have 2 monkeys and about 4 big dogs on board this trip. The Army has a bigger monkey than we have and they also have the other dogs. We are due at Mindoro early tomorrow.

January 21, 1945 - Some of the boys traded the natives out of a small monkey.
