October 25, 1944 - Passed part of a life raft in the water. There was no one on it. The PC’s sent a few submarine contact reports and we came to general quarters, but never saw any subs.
This WWII Journal chronicles the life of an USNR Radioman, my grandfather-in-law, on board the LST 740. The Journal includes dates from 4/20/1944 through 5/29/1945.
