December 23, 1944 - 4:15 - Revellie. 5:00 General headquarters. We are going to put off parts of the second wave of LST’s. We anchor out in the Bay, just out of range of mortar fire and the LVT’s run off the ramp which is lowered in the water. The LVT’s really go off nice. I expected them to go under, but they don’t. Our small boat also takes part in the invasion leading the tanks in. We got all of our tanks off ok and our part of the invasion was carried out nice. I don’t think that they did so good on the beach though, because of the heavy surf. Noon we returned to anchor as before. Six men were killed in the maneuver.
